Meet the Artisan Cheese Maker

As an Australian cheese devotee that is passionate about the art and science of Cheese Making.

Rue is an accredited Artisan Cheese Maker who comes from a rich history of three generations of working on the land that date back to the 1800’s on the Greek Mediterranean island country of Cyprus where Halloumi originated from.

Urban Cheese focuses on the preservation of traditional cheese making. Most importantly cheese making is about a gift in time to learn and enjoy the magical aromas of this yellow nectar. The offerings of cheese are a subjective one where we all taste, smell and interpret cheese through our unique senses

Rue has established herself inner suburban Melbourne offering an experience, tasting, paring and learning about the origins of cheese and the different methods of Artisan cheese making.

The aim of the classes is to provide you with an awareness of different cheeses and a wonderful fun experience. The workshops will enable you to make your own cheese by hand whilst having fun.
